40 YEARS OF

INNOVATION

The story of Casall started in 1984 when founder Carl-Axel Surtevall opened one of the first fitness centres for women: Athena. Until then, training had been reserved for professional athletes and bodybuilders, before the 80s democratised it in a new way. Surtevall's passion for fitness led him to develop products and ideas that raised the bar of what an active lifestyle could be. When the female instructors of Athena wanted to find fashionable and functional activewear, the original idea for designer sportswear for women was born.

Since then, innovation has been our guiding star – a force that keeps us moving forward. For 40 years, we've continuously explored new ways to improve and innovate perfect fits, design, and functionality. We believe innovation, quality, fashion, function, and performance intertwine, making our mission to refine the art of activewear an ever-evolving journey. 

Our founder, Carl-Axel Surtevall, grew up in a textile factory run by his father, a true fabric expert. Thanks to this, quality has always been at the heart of Casall. This means we commit to crafting pieces you can wear, train in, wash and love for the long run. It also means choosing suppliers carefully and exploring new ways to craft high-quality activewear and tools with recycled materials. Going through all the archive images for our 40th anniversary this year really gave us 80s fever! Even though our SS24 collection isn’t inspired by the decade of big hair, neon colours and aerobics, we couldn’t help but give a little nod to the year Casall was born with three key pieces that put a modern spin on nostalgia.
